Respiratory Therapist - Health & Wellness Hub - .9 Night

Fairview is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to join our Long Term Acute Care Respiratory Therapy team at our Fairview Community Health and Wellness Hub in St. Paul, MN. We’re offering a $13,500 sign-on bonus!

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services as prescribed by a physician. Follows defined treatment protocol according to department policies. Collects, assesses, interprets, and intervenes as appropriate in the care of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Ensures patient welfare and safety standards during treatments.

Schedule: This position will be working 0.9 FTE (72 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the night shift. This position will also work a rotation for every other weekend.

• Shift differential incentives:
  • $4.00/hr for nights
  • $2.00/hr for weekends

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for:

• Assessing patient needs and identifies expected outcomes.
• Implementing Respiratory interventions based on plan of care.
• Evaluating care and the patient’s response to interventions and expected outcomes.
• Delivering care as delegated by physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patient population, or individual patient.
• Using communication strategies to achieve desirable outcomes.
• Operating and maintaining all Respiratory Care equipment.

Required Qualifications: 

• Education 
  • Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field 
• License/Certification/Registration 
  • Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. 
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) with 3 or more years of respiratory therapist experience in clinical setting 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 
• Additional Requirements (must be obtained and maintained) 
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire

 Preferred Qualifications:  

• Education 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field 
• License/Certification/Registration 
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
