Overview
The Radiology Quality Coordinator leads staff education and competency program for hospitals/clinics in the FV system. In collaboration with the Radiology Leadership Team, this position manages Quality Assurance, Quality improvement and department policies and procedures. This position is accountable for JCAHO, ACR, HICFA, and NRC Standards.
Responsibilities/Job Description
Monitors Equipment
- Daily monitors equipment in work area to determine function ability and takes appropriate corrective action when needed
- Monitors compliance of all JCAHO Federal PDA, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, State Department of Health and Bureau of Radiation Control standards and reports to the Radiology Director on an ongoing basis
Lead quality assurance program
- Develops implements, evaluates and monitor the Radiology and Imaging Quality Assurance program to ensure continuity of mission statement. This includes QC for Radiation Safety Meetings for NM
- Facilitate physician involvement
- Lead quality assurance activities with Radiology staff
- Coordinate testing of equipment
- Ensures physicist checks are completed within the expected timeframes
Coordinate education activity for all Radiology staff.
- Assists Radiology Leadership Team in design, development and implementation of programming to meet needs of different modalities
- Work with Radiology Leadership Team to plan and implement education activities for staff
- Provide feedback to Radiology Leadership Team regarding training
Leads processes to obtain and maintain accreditation of Radiology services including ACR (MRI, CT, NM, US, MRI Breast) and others to follow
- Coordinates activities related to accreditation of Radiology services
- Stays current on all agency requirements
- Ensures compliance with accreditation agency requirements
- Ensures staff development for compliance.
- Maintain appropriate records
- Make recommendations for policy and procedure revisions
- Ensure Health and Safety program is maintained with regular auditing
Manage the dosimetry badge program for multiple South Region sites
- Coordinate reporting and issue resolution with the Radiation Safety Officer
Manage appropriate policy and procedure update process.
- Makes recommendation to managers for policy and procedure revisions and develops drafts
- Obtains Radiology Leadership Team input in policy development.
- Manage Community reporting for imaging
Incidents & Complaints Processes
- Manages and follows up on incidents reported through the WDHB incident system
- Coordinate meetings to review incidents and complaint trends with imaging leadership and other relevant staff members
Maintains own professional competence
- Continually advancing knowledge of information systems and programs relevant for the role
- Plans and ensures own continuing education program is up to date
Member of the Education Counsel
Work with IES as requested
Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served
Qualifications
Required:
- Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology and training in NM/CT/MR
- Five to ten years Radiology Spec Pro Technologist experience required
- ARRT or registered in NM/CT/MR Radiology modality

- Basic computer knowledge and typing. Ability to organize plans and develop projects
