M Health Fairview is looking for a Patient Care Supervisor at Woodwinds Hospital to lead our Med/Surg Unit.

About This Position:
- This position works 64 hours every two weeks on the day shift
- Patient Population: general medical surgical, oncology, palliative and hospice care
- Occasional Oncology patient

The PCS aids in promoting the practice of professional nursing as well as the development and utilization of resources. The PCS works cooperatively with the Nurse Manager, administration, physicians, staff and customers of the M Health Fairview system to provide services and consistently meet and exceed expectations of the people we serve. The PCS participates in aspects of budgeting, performance management and human resources matters, including recruitment and the administration of disciplinary measures. The PCS assists in implementing and supporting safety protocols and regulations ensuring compliance with federal, state and local requirements and meets all Joint Commission requirements. The PCS will model behaviors consistent with M Health Fairview’s mission, vision and philosophy and effectively maintain the hospitals Standards of Care and Practice.
- Assists in managing the day-to-day and shift-to-shift operations
- Supervision of personnel in the department and projects as delegated.
- Hiring, discipline and performance evaluations
- Acts as a role model
- Collaborates with Nursing and Provider leadership to implement and evaluate standards of practice.
- Supports our patient experience initiatives
- Assist with nurse and tech development
- Demonstrates skills/abilities in provision of patient care and directs patient care
- Compass review and follow up with unit staff and other departments
- Lead preceptor duties
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. If Bachelors is not in nursing, then must have a Master’s degree in nursing
- At least three years of Nursing experience
- At least one years of Nursing leadership experience (charge/preceptor experience acceptable)
- BLS
- RN License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical-Surgical Certification
- Oncology Certification
