Nurse Practitioner - Hospitalist

M Health Fairview Northland Medical Center Hospitalist Team, which currently consists of three physicians and two advanced practice providers, seeks a Nurse Practitioner to join their Hospitalist team. Hospitalists round on inpatients and patients on Observation status, provide consult services to surgical colleagues in the hospital and take un-assigned patients from the Emergency Room.

Typical day shift workload will include rounding, admits, discharge, and consultation for co-management of surgical patients as requested. Provider is expected to be competent in management of inpatients including adults and co-management of critically ill adults with a Physician.  Nights are covered by a Tele-Hospitalist program.

Practice Details:

• Current average daily hospitalist census: 8-10 per day (adults only, no pediatrics)
• Collaborate with local hospitalist Physician (on-site during days/evenings and Tele-Hospitalist service at night), TeleICU Critical Care physicians (located at Fairview Southdale hospital), Surgeons and surgical APPs, and local ER Physician who is present on-site 24 hours/day.
• Modified block schedule with rotating weekends and holidays.
  • 7 days on/7 days off
  • Shift hours are 7a-5p

• Graduate of a school or nursing and accredited Family, Adult Gerontology, Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner training program
• BC/BE through the AANP or ANCC
• Licensed or ability to obtain APRN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing
• Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
• Inpatient experience preferred
