Nurse Manager - ICU and Vascular Access

Fairview is looking for a Nurse Manager to lead the Intensive Care Unit and Vascular Access team at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, MN. This Nurse Manager manages nursing practice and patient care operations in collaboration with and accountable to the Nursing Director. This includes: nursing practice, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, finance and other operational accountabilities. This individual will typically work Monday through Friday normal business hours, but those could possibly go into the evening or weekends as needed as well. 

Woodwinds Health Campus opened its 86-bed hospital in August 2000. Located on 30 acres of pristine wetlands in Woodbury, MN, it’s the only hospital in the southeast metro area. Woodwinds provides convenient, comprehensive and quality health care for the community. 

Our ICU is an 18 bed, mixed acuity cardiac and intensive care unit. Our average patient length of stay is 3-4 days, and we serve an 18 Patient Population.  We specialize in Vents, codes, respiratory failures, septic patients, shock, unstable post surgical, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, emphysema, diabetics.

Job Expectations:

• Leads day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization.
• Plans, handles, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management.
• Handles equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget.
• Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow.
• Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the quality improvement initiatives.

In addition, the ICU NM:

• Is responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations.
• Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Advocates for patient, family and staff needs.
• Drives improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience.  
• In partnership the Nursing Practice and Education team assure that evidence based/best practice clinical care is being delivered.
• Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency.
• Works with Nurse Director to establish goals and objectives.
• Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research.
• Partners with interprofessional team members across the continuum of care to achieve organizational outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. If Bachelor’s degree is not in nursing must have a Master’s degree is nursing
• 3 years of nursing experience, at least two of which is in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role
• Licensed Registered Nurse. Ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license at time of hire.
• BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications: 

• 5 years of ICU experience
• Master’s Degree in Nursing
• ANCC or AONL Certification

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical. If your role is eligible for a sign-on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer, is what will be honored.

Salary : $125,174 - $180,814
