Job Summary
Provide music therapy services to patients in accordance with the standards of Music Therapy Clinical Practice. Services include patient assessment and individual care planning related to music therapy.
Responsibilities
- Provide music therapy services in accordance with the standards of Music Therapy Clinical
- Practice, including patient assessment and individual care planning related to music therapy.
- Maintain music therapy equipment and supplies.
- Communicate in a timely manner with interdisciplinary team members regarding changes in patient condition and other information as needed.
- Document patient care according to established requirements and timeframe.
- Accountable on an ongoing basis for information communicated at staff meetings. Discusses all unclear issues with the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or B.M. degree from a college or university program approved by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA).
- Must have completed AMTA-approved clinical internship in Music Therapy.
- 1 year recent experience in a healthcare setting or completion of an AMTA - approved clinical internship.
- Computer skills (able to document effectively in EMR).
- Must maintain specific knowledge and skills required for clinical competency in Music Therapy.
- Must be certified by the Certification Board of Music Therapists, or eligible to take the certification exam Upon Hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required prior to start date
