Fairview is hiring an onsite EE Occupational Health Nurse for our MG Ambulatory Care Center IAM in Maple Grove, Minnesota!
As an Employee Occupational Health Nurse (OHN), you will be responsible for the independent assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of professional nursing care provided to Fairview employees, providers, and other workers. The OHN also performs interdependent functions which include communication strategies with various stakeholders and colleagues (i.e. recruiting, all levels of leadership, infection preventionists, case managers, medical consultants, etc.). The OHN is responsible for performing these functions in accordance with all policies, procedures, and professional practice guidelines.
Schedule: This position will be working 1.0 FTE (80 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the day shift.
Responsibilities Job Description
Assess employee, manager, and organization needs:
• Use on going, systematic process to gather relevant data
• Involve employee, manager and representatives of other disciplines as appropriate in gathering data
• Complete initial assessment of employee on the job injuries/illness, health assessments (labs, imaging, vaccines etc.), surveillance requirements, immunization status review and follow up, blood and body fluid exposure follow up, and communicable disease exposure follow-up based on knowledge of specific regulations, industry practices, work task and work environments
• Provide appropriate care, guidance, support and counseling following various infectious disease and blood and body fluid exposures.
• Collaborate with the accommodations department for medical accommodation needs
• Consult with Medical Director/Consultant as needed
• Partner with EOHS Manager and Lead as needed in decision making
• Communicate as needed to Human Resources, leaders, and other stakeholders
• Respond appropriately to emergent situations
• Maintain accurate recordkeeping in the employee electronic health record
• Maintain for accuracy portions of the required OSHA recordkeeping log
• Identifies and utilizes appropriate internal and external resources
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Two-year college nursing degree (AAS or AD)
- Two years' experience in occupational health nursing or in an area of nursing requiring independent nursing skills, i.e. public health nursing, ICU nursing, leadership etc.
- Current MN RN licensure
- Ability to obtain licensure in other states as needed
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Lean Six Sigma training as determined by manager
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN or BAN degree - 4-year college nursing degree
- More than three years in occupational health nursing
- COHN-S or COHN
- Lean Six-Sigma
