What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compensation Consultant position at Fairview Health Services?
Fairview is currently seeking a Compensation Consultant for a temporary role that is expected to last 12 months. The Compensation Consultant is responsible for maintaining and administering compensation programs aimed at attracting and retaining world-class talent in a competitive environment. Reporting to the Compensation Manager, this individual will partner with HR Business Partners and leadership to provide consultative services on all compensation topics and help ensure that compensation and total rewards programs are aligned with the business and talent strategies.
- This position is classified as temporary and is expected to remain active for 12 months; extension or conversion is not guaranteed.
- This position is classified as a mobile role and will by mostly remote with onsite requirements as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assists with system-wide annual compensation processes including the merit cycle and pay range reviews
- Provides strategic consultation to HR Business Partners and leaders on compensation-related matters
- Conducts job evaluations to ensure jobs are graded and classified appropriately, considering external market analysis, internal equity, and regulatory compliance
- Analyzes compensation program effectiveness and makes recommendations for continuous improvements
- Participates in compensation activities involved with union groups, preparing market evaluations, providing recommendations for compensation programs, and set up in HR systems
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts Business Administration, Human Resources, or Finance or a combination of Education & Experience
- 5 years Compensation experience
- Experience working in a multi-union environment
- Strong analytical and technical skills
- Proven ability to partner with others outside of area including business partners in human resources and others such as finance and IT
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience working with excel, word, power point
- Broad knowledge of several areas of Human Resources
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Arts Business Administration, Human Resources, or Finance
- Certified Compensation Professional

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
