Job Summary:

Fairport Rehab & Nursing Center is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and compassionate Medicaid Coordinator. The Medicaid Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the financial operations of our skilled nursing facility by assisting residents and families with Medicaid applications, maintaining accurate resident financial information, and coordinating with internal departments and external agencies to ensure appropriate reimbursement.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Medicaid processes, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential financial and personal information with professionalism and discretion.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day Medicaid and business office functions related to accounts receivable, resident accounts and collections as needed.
• Assist residents and families with Medicaid applications, eligibility requirements, documentation, and financial responsibilities
• Monitor the status of Medicaid applications and follow up with residents, families, government agencies, and other appropriate parties as needed.
• Coordinate with the admissions team to verify insurance coverage, Medicaid status, and appropriate payer sources.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, HIPAA requirements, Medicaid requirements, and company policies.
• Collaborate regularly with department leaders and the corporate finance team.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and staff.
• Medicaid Coordinator will also be responsible for handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  
  
  

Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Health Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Prior experience in Medicaid, medical billing, accounts receivable, healthcare finance, or a business office environment required; long-term-care experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Medicaid eligibility, applications, documentation, billing, and reimbursement processes.
• Knowledge of Medicare, private insurance, payer sources, and healthcare reimbursement preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with residents, families, facility leadership, and corporate team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive financial and personal information with professionalism and discretion.
