Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle chemical agents safely, following all safety protocols for mixing, storing, and disposing of cleaning supplies to ensure a hazard-free environment.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting, and custodial duties to support facility operations.
- Operate cleaning machinery including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and other custodial equipment to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Follow safety procedures diligently during heavy lifting and manual handling tasks to prevent injuries and promote safe work practices.
- Maintain sanitation standards by adhering to health regulations and ensuring all areas are hygienic and presentable at all times.
- Assist with general facilities maintenance tasks including light repairs, painting, and porter duties as needed to support overall building upkeep.
Requirements
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with knowledge of commercial cleaning practices.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling safety procedures.
- Strong manual handling skills with an understanding of safe lifting practices to prevent injury during heavy lifting tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on sanitation, safety protocols, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary.
- Prior experience in facilities maintenance or Porter roles is preferred; residential painting or general maintenance skills are a plus.
