Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role in Coral Gables, FL for a Labor Employment Associate. The Labor Employment Associate will be responsible for handling employment litigation law matters (involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and wage claims). The attorney will be expected to handle tasks independently, including evaluating potential and pending matters; developing case strategies; drafting, responding to, and arguing motions; attending hearings; preparing for, taking, and defending depositions; conducting legal research, discovery, and factual analysis; conducting mediations and case negotiations; and drafting related to cases and investigations. This role is for a detail-oriented, motivated attorney who can evaluate and litigate cases without extensive oversight.
Qualifications
- Member in good standing of the Florida Bar
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Proficient with MS Word (including shortcuts), Adobe, Zoom, working in a Mac environment
- Strong legal research kills
- Experience in Employment Litigation
- Excellent written and verbal advocacy skills
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Well-organized and able to manage an active caseload
