Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the smooth operation of our dental practice. As an RDA, you will assist dentists during procedures, ensure infection control standards are maintained, and provide compassionate support to patients of all ages. Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure all dental equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, updating medical histories, treatment notes, and ensuring HIPAA compliance for confidentiality.
- Provide chairside assistance by handling dental tools, managing suction devices, and monitoring vital signs during treatments.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote ongoing health.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation for insurance claims or medical coding.
Qualifications
- Valid registration as a Dental Assistant with current licensure or certification recognized by state or provincial regulatory bodies.
- Proven experience working in a general dentistry environment with familiarity in pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and infection control practices.
- Proficiency in dental software systems including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic EMR platforms.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques to ensure safe clinical practices.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
