What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aircraft Component Technician position at Fairhope Aerospace?
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the performance of various aircraft component maintenance and inspection related tasks.
ESSENTIAL TASKS/DUTIES:
- Perform various entry level technical/mechanical functions pertaining to aircraft component maintenance and inspection processes.
- Assist higher level technicians with various component tasks as necessary (cleaning, testing, paperwork, etc.)
- Perform various facility and equipment maintenance tasks as directed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Shop Supervisor.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
- Basic Mathematics.
- Basic tool identification, selection, and proper operation.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, talk and hear.
- The ability to use hands to feel and handle objects.
- The employee frequently is required to move from one place to another and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test for safety sensitive position per DOT and FAA regulations.
- Must be able to continuously pass random drug and alcohol screenings throughout employment per DOT and FAA regulations.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 1-year mechanical experience.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:
- Ability to obtain CFR Part 65 certification.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
