What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tractor Technician position at Fairhart Farms,INC?
- FARM EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING ON FARM EQUIPMENT. Must have your own transportation and be on time.
As a Mechanic / Farm Equipment Operator you will be responsible for:
- Performing preventative maintenance and repairs on the farm equipment and building systems. (John Deere, New Holland, Ford, Etc.)
- Perform maintenance and repairs on farm use trucks.
- Performing welding and fabrication.
- Operating payloaders, tractors, skid steers, cropping equipment, semi-tractors, and other modern-day large farm equipment.
- Clean and lubricate parts.
- Performing other general farm maintenance and other duties as assigned, washing equipment, and other laborious duties.
· Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with employees to locate and diagnose malfunctions.
- Complying with all safety policies, practices, and procedures and always utilizing appropriate safety equipment, at all times.
- Participating in proactive team efforts to achieve company goals.
- As an agriculture business, work demands vary based on seasonal demands.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- A mechanically minded individual who can troubleshoot problems and is comfortable repairing and maintaining equipment.
- Welding experience is a plus but not the only requirement for this position.
- Experience operating large farm equipment.
- Strong communications skills.
- Problem solver.
- Independently motivated / team oriented.
- Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow written and oral directions.
- Ability to lift at least 100 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
