Job Description: Fairfield University is looking for a self-motivated, detailed-oriented, hardworking and intelligent person to join the Office of Admission as an Assistant Director of California Regional Admission . This position will be regionally located in either the greater San Francisco Bay area or the greater Southern California area. The Assistant Director of Regional Admission is responsible for the identification, recruitment and evaluation of promising prospective students within their designated territory. Being regionally based, the Assistant Director serves as the college's admission presence in this territory and is expected to foster strong relationships on behalf of Fairfield University within the community. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build upon the strong success of Fairfield’s enrollment strategy. Fairfield has made tremendous inroads in becoming more selective and national with its approach to enrollment. Candidates who are professional and have a proven track record as relationship builders and ethical practitioners will be considered for this position. Essential functions Represent Fairfield University, its programs and co-curricular offerings to prospective students and families at out-of-state recruitment events, including high school and college visits, college fairs, visits to individual schools and community-based organizations, receptions, information sessions, and presentations. Work closely with high school guidance counselors, secondary school administrators and community-based organizations to foster strong relationships to advance the mission of Fairfield University. Provide first-reading duties on all applicants from territory, as well as serve on the admission committee. Collaborate closely with appropriate campus partners. Serve as a partner, maintaining an excellent level of customer service with prospective students and their families, and the University’s employees. Work closely with the admissions staff in strategic planning and data analysis for assigned territories to meet institutional goals. Assist in the executing of a variety of on-campus and off-campus recruitment and yield programs, virtually and in-person. Will be required to work on some evenings and weekends in the representation of the University through regional recruitment programs. Serve on project teams and complete administrative projects as assigned, and travel to Fairfield, CT as needed for training and regular collaboration with constituents on campus. Requirements: Bachelor's degree required. Two to four years’ experience in admission Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Office Past experience with Slate is preferred Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required. The ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential. Because this position requires driving for University business, the successful candidate must possess a U.S driver's license. Duties may be changed and/or be added at any time.
