Position Overview
The Business Office Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial and administrative operations within the facility, ensuring accuracy in billing, compliance with regulations, and effective census and admissions support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and payroll processes
- Oversee resident trust accounts and maintain accurate financial records
- Ensure timely and accurate billing for Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance providers
- Lead collections efforts and maintain consistent follow-up procedures
- Supervise business office staff, including reception and financial support roles
- Support admissions with financial coordination and required documentation
- Maintain census reporting, bank deposits, and account reconciliations
- Manage petty cash tracking and replenishment
- Build and maintain professional relationships with residents, families, and vendors
- Ensure compliance with all long-term care financial regulations and standards
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Business Office Manager in a skilled nursing facility preferred
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party billing
- Proven experience in accounts receivable and collections
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
