Position Overview
As a Police Officer with the Fairfield Police Department, you will perform a wide variety of law enforcement duties including patrol, crime prevention, investigation, traffic enforcement, and community policing. You’ll work 12-hour shifts on a Panama schedule, typically rotating between days and nights every 3 months, with every other weekend off.
Residency Requirement: Officers must reside within 30 minutes of Fairfield. This policy offers flexibility while ensuring timely response capability.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- U.S. Citizen
- Must be 18 years of age or older at time of appointment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to pass background check, physical fitness test, and psychological evaluation
