The Security Attendant is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment by performing a variety of security and public assistance tasks. This position serves as a key point of contact for all individuals entering the property through the main security checkpoint and amenity entrances. The Security Attendant interacts with property owners, members, guests, and associates in a professional and courteous manner, providing clear guidance and support as needed.
Primary duties are performed at designated security checkpoints, with a strong emphasis on visibility, communication, and excellent customer service.
This is a part-time position scheduled from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 3 days per week, or 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM, 2-3 days per week, depending on scheduling needs. Weekend shifts are required. A shift differential of $1.00 per hour is paid for third shift.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for members, guests, contractors, and associates.
- Verify and validate the identities of personnel entering the property at the Security checkpoint, confirming their authorization and providing the appropriate credentials (parking stickers or passes).
- Enforce organizational and committee policies consistently and fairly.
- Respond to medical emergencies as needed.
- Conduct regular patrols across nearly 50 miles of roadways, inspecting properties for potential issues, safety concerns, or suspicious activities.
- Perform essential computer tasks, including managing emails, utilizing internet applications, preparing documents in Microsoft Word, creating tables in Microsoft Excel, and maintaining accurate reports and activity logs.
- Document incidents involving property damage or injuries to associates, members, and guests through grammatically correct reports.
- Conduct physical security checks of organizational buildings and infrastructure to safeguard equipment and assets.
Education, Skills & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Initiative and self-drive to continuously improve individual and organizational performance.
- Good judgment when interacting with the public, coworkers, and organizational leadership.
- Patience and empathy in public-facing situations.
- Proficient with basic computer tasks, particularly Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), for preparing spreadsheets, documents, and presentations.
- Strong observational skills with an attention to detail.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military is preferred but not required.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or can be obtained while on the job).
- Possession of a valid drivers license.
Physical Requirements:
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Endure extended periods of driving, standing, sitting, and walking, including in hot or humid conditions.
- Conduct foot patrols across uneven, steep, rough, or slippery terrain.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Reach overhead, bend, twist, pull, climb, stoop, and navigate stairs or elevated surfaces as needed.
- Work effectively in environments that may involve physical activity, high stress, or driving as part of routine duties.
