Pay Range: $17.94-$29.53 hourly

Job Description:

The Credential Coordinator ensures that practitioners (Physicians, Podiatrists, Dentists, Psychologists, and Advanced Practice Providers) are properly credentialed in order to comply with applicable legal, professional, and regulatory requirements.

• Manages the credentialing process for all applicants to the Medical Staff and/or Advanced Practice Provider staff as well as those seeking an extension of their clinical privileges.
• Collaborates with managers and directors of other hospital departments to ensure that Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers are only performing procedures for which they are credentialed.
• Active participant on Credentials Committee. Coordinates related materials for committee action and prepares report for Medical Executive Committee and Board of Directors for final approval.
• Manages Physician and Advanced Practice Providers Peer Review process related to Credentialing and Privileging.
• Active participant in process improvement related to Credentialing and Privileging.
• Conducts research around credentialing criteria for new procedures and collaborates with Medical Staff leadership in the development of new privileges and clinical programs.
• Manages credentialing database including implementation of new programs and updates.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree required.
• NAMSS certification preferred.
• 2 years experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Knowledge of TJC and CMS regulations preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel required.
• Maintains a high degree of confidentiality.

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or conditions exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary Work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
