The Fairfield Inn & Suites Gainesville I-75 is a proud, award-winning hotel known for exceptional service, a welcoming atmosphere, and a team that goes above and beyond. We are currently looking for a dependable, energetic, and service-oriented individual to join our Maintenance & Housekeeping Support Team as a Houseman.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring our public areas are clean, welcoming, and ready to impress — and also provides vital support to both the housekeeping and maintenance departments. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and stairwells
- Perform regular property walks to remove trash, debris, or items out of place
- Assist with setting up and breaking down meeting or event spaces — including arranging furniture and placing linens when needed
- Vacuum hallways and common areas, especially prior to guest check-in
- Remove trash from guest floors and public areas multiple times a day
- Maintain the pool and patio area, ensuring cleanliness and restocking towels or supplies as needed
- Support housekeeping by delivering linens, collecting soiled laundry, and responding to guest service requests
- Assist the maintenance team with basic upkeep projects, such as light bulb replacements, minor repairs, or room resets
- Report safety hazards, maintenance issues, or guest concerns promptly to management
- Deliver exceptional guest service with a positive attitude and helpful demeanor
- Complete other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous hotel or hospitality experience is a plus but not required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move for extended periods (6 hours)
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs
- A friendly, courteous attitude with a genuine desire to help guests and teammates
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic
