The Executive Housekeeper assists the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments. This position is responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness, product quality, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures.

The Executive Housekeeper leads, trains, and supports the housekeeping team while maintaining strong communication with all hotel departments. This position plays a key role in protecting the hotel's physical assets, maintaining guestroom standards, and creating a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for every guest.

Essential FunctionsHousekeeping & Laundry Operations

  • Assist the General Manager with the daily supervision of Housekeeping and Laundry operations.
  • Attend interdepartmental meetings and maintain effective communication with all hotel departments.
  • Maintain master key control and ensure compliance with company key control policies.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled housekeeping meetings.
  • Inspect guest rooms, suites, and public areas to ensure cleanliness, proper amenity and literature placement, and compliance with hotel standards.
  • Accurately maintain and input housekeeping information in the property management system.
  • Maintain adequate levels of housekeeping supplies, linens, and guestroom amenities through regular inventory and ordering.
  • Prepare weekly schedules for housekeeping and laundry personnel in accordance with company labor guidelines.
  • Clean and service guest rooms as needed.
  • Report room repairs, maintenance concerns, and unsafe conditions to the General Manager and Maintenance department.
  • Track daily housekeeping projects and initiatives designed to improve guestroom quality and overall hotel condition.
  • Respond to housekeeping requests from guests and management in a timely, efficient, and friendly manner.
  • Maintain accurate records and tracking of lost and found items in accordance with company procedures.
  • Manage and assist with deep-cleaning projects and provide hands-on support to the housekeeping team during high-volume periods.

Guest Satisfaction

  • Train Room Attendants and Laundry Attendants on housekeeping procedures, cleanliness standards, safety practices, and guest service expectations.
  • Inspect assigned guestrooms, suites, and public areas to ensure furnishings, equipment, linens, amenities, and facilities are clean, properly maintained, and guest-ready.
  • Communicate deficiencies to employees and provide clear direction for corrective action and retraining as needed.
  • Perform housekeeping duties as necessary, including making beds, vacuuming, cleaning, and preparing guestrooms.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest complaints, special requests, and housekeeping concerns, ensuring appropriate corrective action is taken.
  • Accommodate special needs and requests for guests, VIPs, and repeat visitors.
  • Ensure guestrooms are thoroughly cleaned, properly prepared, and maintained to provide a comfortable environment where guests can work, rest, and enjoy their stay.
  • Support the hotel's guest satisfaction goals and take action to address opportunities for improvement.

Employee Satisfaction & Team Leadership

  • Manage daily staffing requirements, assign work, and adjust staffing based on hotel occupancy and operational needs.
  • Establish performance and development goals for housekeeping and laundry team members.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, training, and feedback to support employee performance and development.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and quality service through daily communication with team members and department leaders.
  • Train employees in compliance with company policies, governmental regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Ensure employees have the training, tools, supplies, and equipment necessary to perform their duties safely and effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with the management team to improve employee engagement and support the hotel's service philosophy.
  • Address performance, attendance, disciplinary, and staffing concerns in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide recommendations regarding employee development, succession planning, and advancement opportunities.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.

Product Quality

  • Maintain established cleanliness and quality standards throughout guestrooms, suites, public areas, laundry facilities, and back-of-house areas.
  • Help protect the hotel's physical assets by ensuring proper care, cleaning, and maintenance of furnishings, equipment, linens, and guestroom items.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections and promptly address deficiencies.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and product quality scores, including Medallia results, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Work with the General Manager and Maintenance department to identify and resolve recurring property condition concerns.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality and presentation of the hotel.

Education & ExperienceMinimum Experience

  • Minimum of two years of housekeeping supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous hotel housekeeping experience required.
  • Experience leading, training, or developing a housekeeping team preferred.

Minimum Skill Requirements

  • Must be able to comprehend and communicate effectively in English.
  • Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to train, coach, and develop employees.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a management team.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use hotel property management and other operating systems.

Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands

  • Must be physically and visually able to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and remain professional during stressful situations.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be flexible with work hours, including weekends and holidays, based on hotel operational needs.
  • Must be able to respond effectively to multiple task interruptions while providing service to internal and external customers.
  • Must adhere to company dress code and appearance standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform housekeeping duties, including bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and repetitive movements.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of environments throughout the hotel, including guestrooms, public areas, laundry facilities, and back-of-house areas.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week
