About the Role:
The H-D Vehicle Assistant Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the sales performance and customer satisfaction within a Harley-Davidson dealership. This position is responsible for supporting the Sales Manager in overseeing daily sales operations, ensuring that sales targets are met or exceeded while maintaining the highest standards of customer service. The role involves managing and motivating the sales team, coordinating with other departments, and implementing effective sales strategies tailored to the retail motorcycle market. The Assistant Sales Manager also acts as a key liaison between customers and the dealership, fostering long-term relationships and enhancing brand loyalty. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to the dealership’s growth and reputation by delivering an exceptional buying experience and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail sales, preferably in the automotive or motorcycle industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a customer-focused environment.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing or assisting a sales team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with customers and team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within a Harley-Davidson dealership or familiarity with the brand and its culture.
- Knowledge of motorcycle financing, insurance, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency with CRM software and sales analytics tools.
- Certification or training in sales management or retail operations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to support dealership needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Sales Manager in developing and executing sales plans to achieve dealership revenue goals.
- Supervise and support the sales team by providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
- Manage daily sales floor activities, including customer interactions, vehicle presentations, and test rides.
- Collaborate with finance, service, and parts departments to ensure seamless customer transactions and satisfaction.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Harley-Davidson products, promotions, and industry developments.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards in all sales activities.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and development of sales personnel to build a high-performing team.
