What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher for the 2026 - 2027 School Year position at Fairfield County Educational Service Center?
To be a Substitute Teacher with the Fairfield County ESC you must have the following:
- A valid Professional Teaching or Substitute Teacher License (Apply through the Ohio Department of Education)
- You will need transcripts to show you have a 4-year degree
- A Criminal Background Check (BCI and FBI, you may call our office for an appointment (740-653-3193 x5221) or if conducted at another location please upload the results with your application)
- Substitute Teacher Application filed annually through Applitrack
- Fraud Reporting Form filed annually (found on the Fairfield County ESC website and uploaded into your application)
- Substitute payroll packet - included in the application (meant to be downloaded, filled out, and returned to the ESC by mail, fax, or in person)
- Temporary Non-Bachelor substitute teacher candidates returning MUST meet one of the following:
- Currently Enrolled in a post-secondary program leading to a bachelor's degree, OR
- Provide evidence of completion of eight (8) hours of professional learning related to classroom teaching
