Essential duties and responsibilities
- Safely maneuver furniture frames on work platform
- Tacks cardboard, padding and upholstery material to top, side, and bottom rails of outside arms, fitting and shaping materials to obtain specified contour using staple gun, staple puller, scissors, and regulator
- Responsible for fixing their own repairs
- Maintains neat and orderly workstation.
- Follow all workplace safety standards
- Performs other duties as required by supervisor.
Qualification requirements
- At least 2 years of hands on inside/outside Upholstery experience
- Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook to Intermediate level
- Effective communication & interpersonal skills required to build relationships across the business
- Demonstrate use of upholstery tools
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills
- Effective organizational, stress and time management skills
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently or as a team member
- Ability to read work instructions
Physical demands and abilities
- Prolonged standing/walking/bending required and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects
Experience
Preferred- 2 year(s): previous upholstery experience
