What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Registered Veterinary Technician position at Fairfield Area Humane Society?

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals and a commitment to providing excellent care. The Veterinary Technician will be responsible for assisting the veterinarian with examinations, administering treatments, collecting samples, monitoring vital signs, and providing patient education. The successful candidate must also be able to work independently and have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications and vaccinations to animals.
  • Provide medical care to animals, including diagnostics and treatments.
  • Maintain records of animal treatments and health care.
  • Assist veterinarians in performing medical procedures.
  • Monitor vital signs of animals and recognize signs of illness or distress.
  • Provide emotional support to owners of sick or injured animals.
  • Educate owners on proper animal care and nutrition.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Lancaster, OH 43130: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
