What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Administrative Assistant position at Fairfax Water - Official?

This position is TEMPORARY for 6 months with the possibility of an extension.


Under the general supervision of the Chief of Employee Experience, the Human Resource Administrative Assistant position will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department.


Responsibilities

  • Welcomes guest to the HR office by greeting in person or by telephone, answering or directing inquires. 
  • Answers questions relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department.
  • Assists with new hire orientation.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, health and benefits fairs, employee recognition, and other events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of four years of progressively responsible related experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with or the ability to quickly learn SAP (Human Resources module) and NeoGov applicant tracking system.
  • Minimum of two years in an HR role.
  • Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and relevant laws.


Salary : $64,505 - $105,674
