NATURE OF POSITION
As a Staff Pharmacist, you have a critical role at the forefront of delivering our purpose, modeling our values, and demonstrating genuine, authentic care for our patients. You will support the Pharmacy Director in leading and directing the pharmacy support staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
Current Oklahoma Pharmacy License as a Registered Pharmacist and in good standing with the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy. Experience negotiable.
SALARY GRADE AND CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
RESPONSIBLE TO: Pharmacy Director
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues in a timely manner and answers questions to
ensure a positive customer experience.
• Counsels patients and answers their questions regarding usage of medicine, side effects, interactions, contraindications, patient information privacy, generics, less expensive
medicines, over-the-counter products, and refers to medical provider as needed to ensure medication is taken correctly, health needs addressed, and satisfaction with service.
• Monitors patient’s drug therapy and provides drug information to patients and healthcare providers.
• Using computerized data systems, records prescriptions, and checks for drug interactions. Verifies all drugs are labeled properly, including the addition on auxiliary labels.
• Ensures that only a pharmacist or authorized pharmacy personnel under the direction and supervision of the pharmacist, dispenses medications, makes label changes, or transfers
to different containers.
• Upholds and abides by patient confidentiality policies and procedures.
• Ensures the pharmacy operates in accordance to regulations, company policies and standards. Assists pharmacy director with establishing procedures that promotes the efficient workflow of the pharmacy including assigning roles, coordinating activities and soliciting employee suggestions. Responsible for the opening and closing of the pharmacy.
• Assist with the preparation of required reports on the operation of the pharmacy department at the request of the pharmacy director.
• Actively participates in agency-sponsored staff training events (safety instruction, evacuation drills, OSHA training, etc.).
• Maintains a professional appearance; follows established dress code.
• Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
