Summary
Plans, manages, and coordinates the multifaceted program activities and personnel deploying infrastructure across multiple Cloud platforms; assists with the development of strategies supporting the deployment of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), continuous development and testing, and automated integration services; manages risk and compliance through identity management systems, disaster recovery plans and the creation of integration library resources; provides oversight and guidance to a team specializing in multiple verticals; provides presentations and reporting to both technical and non-technical audiences; oversees vendor services contracts; exercises leadership to design, create, implement, assess, and revise programs or activities of the section.
Qualifications
Required
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in managing data center operations, cloud infrastructure, cloud collaboration and messaging platforms, and/or cloud migration, some of which shall have been in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
- Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
- Knowledge of theories, procedures, practices, materials, and methods related to cloud-based infrastructure, IaC tools, SSO technologies, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions, automated operation systems maintenance and support, and/or data center infrastructure.
- Knowledge of technology development, integration, and automation in an Agile environment.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and county laws regulations.
- Strong proficiency in various automation and scripting languages.
- Proficiency in data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
- Skill in personnel, financial, and administrative management.
- Ability to manage, evaluate and supervise program activities and personnel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead teams, and meet multiple project deadlines.
- Ability to plan and conduct professional development activities.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups.

- Agile certification (such as PMI-ACP, CSM, SAFe).
- Certifications in automation tools.
Major Duties/Essential Functions
- Exercises leadership in Cloud program management to include the application of engineering concepts and principles to the design of cloud-based solutions, the monitoring of systems accessibility, performance, and scalability, and the testing and execution of cloud security processes and procedures.
- Plays a key role in developing strategies for achieving the goals contained within the FCPS Strategic Plan and is accountable for outcomes.
- Assists with the vision, roadmap, and cost implementation strategies supporting the deployment of IaC across multiple environments.
- Manages technology pipeline activity for continuous development, testing, and integration via automated delivery services.
- Monitors version control systems for coding accuracy, automation, and synchronization between connected systems and applications.
- Creates, develops, implements, and maintains an integration library that documents various platform languages, configuration optimization, automated workflows, and security and compliance requirements.
- Manages risk and matters of compliance related to local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and mandates.
- Monitors identity management systems and the configuration of access controls associated with services.
- Designs, implements, and maintains cloud-based disaster recovery operations and procedures.
- Collaborates with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to best practices, regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Provides oversight on escalated issues; troubleshoots incidents to identify root causes and implement preventative measures to ensure the uninterrupted availability of services.
- Administers, projects, and allocates assigned and required resources - physical, fiscal, and human.
- Manages a team specializing in multiple verticals and provides professional development on topics such as navigating multiple Cloud environments, engineering principals, applied Agile software approaches, best practices in IaC, and automated testing and deployment.
- Provides guidance on advanced code changes in various programming languages and scalability factors in integration.
- Researches and stays current with emerging Cloud technologies and industry trends.
- Leads interoffice meetings to discuss priorities, progress, and potential roadblocks.
- Fosters cross-team collaboration by organizing joint projects and initiatives that optimize automated workflows and address shared challenges.
- Develops and implements standardized processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
- Prepares and/or coordinates written and oral reports and analyses to identify and interpret trends and metrics to ensure optimal performance and resource allocation.
- Represents the program, department, or Division in negotiating or facilitating resolution regarding matters of significance.
- Presents information and recommendations to senior management team or School Board.
- Develops and maintains working relationships with diverse school, county, and outside agency personnel.
- Negotiates and/or manages contracts, grants, partnership agreements and/or memoranda of understanding/agreements.
- Oversees the work of vendors or contractors.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned.
