The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) in Tysons, Virginia seeks a dynamic and highly motivated Videography and Photography Specialist to join an award-winning Marketing and Communications team dedicated to raising the profile and advancing the economic competitiveness of Fairfax County by producing fresh, timely and compelling content on leaders, trailblazers, icons and entrepreneurs in the Northern Virginia business ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be an expert in video/audio production and photography and bring creative ideas as an integral member of the Marketing and Communications team. This role is central to elevating FCEDA’s impact by producing compelling video, audio, podcasts and visual content that engages key audiences across platforms.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree and one to three years of work experience in video production is required. Demonstrated experience producing content from concept to final cut required. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop) and/or Final Cut Pro X required. Strong editorial judgment and ability to align creative content with organizational priorities preferred. Working knowledge of professional audio equipment, lighting, and DSLR or mirrorless camera systems required. Film using DSLR cameras or similar professional-grade equipment with full command of framing, exposure, and focus required. Skilled at juggling multiple deadlines and working under pressure, particularly during live events preferred. Collaborative mindset with strong verbal and written communication skills preferred. Experience producing short-form content for Reels, or YouTube Shorts preferred.
The candidate must satisfactorily complete a criminal background.
This is a full time position with benefits. Salary is $50,000 to $60,000. This position is attached to Fairfax County government for payroll and like all FCEDA positions, is exempt from county civil service rules and regulations.
