About Us
We’re a 65‑room limited‑service hotel with a small, dependable team. Our Front Desk Agents are the heart of the operation — greeting guests, solving problems, and keeping the hotel running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who is reliable, calm under pressure, and comfortable working independently.
Position Overview
As a Guest Service Agent, you’ll handle everything from check‑ins to guest questions to daily operational tasks. This is not a “sit and wait” job — it’s active, fast‑paced at times, and requires good judgment when management isn’t on‑site.
Pay & Schedule
- $17 per hour
- Shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Full‑time or part‑time depending on availability
- Must have reliable transportation and consistent punctuality
- Some shifts may be solo, depending on staffing and time of day
What You’ll Do
Guest Service
- Welcome guests and provide smooth check‑in/check‑out experiences
- Handle reservations, cancellations, and modifications accurately
- Answer questions about the hotel and local area
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate when needed
Daily Operations
- Handle cash, balance the drawer, and process payments
- Monitor cameras and maintain awareness of hotel security
- Complete shift checklists, logs, and reports
- Coordinate with housekeeping on room status and special requests
- Restock supplies and assist with small tasks around the lobby
- Deliver items to guest rooms when needed
Realistic Expectations
- You may work alone for parts of your shift
- You will handle guest issues without a manager immediately available
- You will multitask: phones, guests, housekeeping coordination, and system work
- You will occasionally deal with upset guests and must stay calm and professional
- You will follow procedures for safety, incidents, and after‑hours situations
What We’re Looking For
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to stay calm and make good decisions independently
- Comfortable using computers and learning hotel software
- Attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment
- Hospitality experience is helpful but not required
- A reliable, steady presence — we depend on each other
