Position Title: Banquet Server
Reports to: General Manager, Banquet Manager, Assigned Captains
Position Summary:
Responsibilities include distributing different kinds of food to guests at special events. Dishes may include passed appetizers where you walk the floor throughout the night, or you may bring various courses to tables in a more formal meal event. Servers must have a friendly and professional demeanor, work well on a team, and be comfortable on their feet for several hours at a time in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Set up banquet rooms as instructed by Supervisor to include linen, service ware and glassware
- Assist with food preparation before and during the event.
- Ensures that all food and beverages delivered and served are served promptly, garnished correctly, and meet the quality and presentation standards.
- Serve the food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the Supervisor to ensure consistency throughout the banquet. Promptly remove dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal at the end of the meal or function.
- Replenish beverages as necessary, and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
- Closely observe guests to ensure that they are satisfied with food, beverages, and service; immediately recognize and respond to any guest’s needs and/or requests.
- Assist with post-event clean up, inventory, food storage, and tear down to ensure the readiness of the room for the following function.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
- Abide by all State, Federal and Company requirements pertaining to alcoholic beverages
Job Requirements:
- At least 19 years old and be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to stand and walk for several hours at a time and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Reliable transportation.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Cleanliness: Being clean and neat when serving food and drinks will help create a great first impression to customers.
- Follow uniform policy, including wine key and non-slip shoes.
- Having certifications and permits on you, always.
Education/Certification/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous banquet server/caterer waiter experience a plus.
- Liquor permit required for 19 years of age and older.
- Alcohol SERV Safe required for 19 years of age and older.
