About The Job
The Carrier Performance Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the company's parcel shipping operations with a primary focus on UPS and FedEx performance. This role monitors shipments from dispatch through delivery, ensures compliance with carrier agreements and service commitments, identifies opportunities for cost recovery, and manages all claims related to late deliveries, damaged shipments, and service failures. The position serves as the primary liaison between the company and parcel carriers, driving accountability, improving customer experience, and maximizing transportation cost savings.

About The Job
The Carrier Performance Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the company's parcel shipping operations with a primary focus on UPS and FedEx performance. This role monitors shipments from dispatch through delivery, ensures compliance with carrier agreements and service commitments, identifies opportunities for cost recovery, and manages all claims related to late deliveries, damaged shipments, and service failures. The position serves as the primary liaison between the company and parcel carriers, driving accountability, improving customer experience, and maximizing transportation cost savings.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily UPS and FedEx shipments to ensure on-time delivery performance.
- Communicate shipment issues and resolutions internally to customer service, sales, and operations teams as needed.
- Ensure carriers adhere to negotiated service agreements and contractual commitments.
- Audit invoices and shipping activity to verify contracted pricing, service guarantees, and accessorial charges.
- st="auto">Identify and recover overcharges, billing discrepancies, and service failures.
- Manage all claims related to late deliveries, damaged shipments, lost packages, and billing disputes.
- Prepare and submit claims documentation to UPS and FedEx in accordance with carrier requirements and timelines.
- contrast="auto">Track claims through resolution and ensure timely reimbursement or credit recovery.
- Escalate recurring service issues and work collaboratively with carriers to implement corrective actions.
- rast="auto">Support carrier negotiations by providing performance data and recovery metrics.
- trast="auto">Partner with Procurement Lead, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and Sales to improve the overall customer delivery experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in transportation, parcel operations, logistics, carrier management, or freight auditing.
- Experience working directly with UPS and FedEx shipping platforms and claims processes.
- rast="auto">Strong understanding of parcel transportation contracts, service guarantees, and carrier billing practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and transportation reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
