What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Marketing position at Factory Direct Party?
Factory Direct Party, a leading e-commerce retailer in the party supplies category, is seeking an experienced Marketing Director to lead and manage the company's marketing function. The Marketing Director will have full ownership of the marketing strategy, budget, and performance across all channels, manage the marketing team, and remain directly involved in the day-to-day execution of campaigns and initiatives.
This is a hands-on role. We are looking for a proven ecommerce marketer who sets the strategy and is personally engaged in carrying it out — not a marketer who delegates the work and steps back.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, manage, and develop the marketing team, setting clear goals, expectations, and individual accountabilities.
- Build organizational structure and hiring plans to support growth, and recruit talent as needed.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance management, and professional development to direct reports.
- Foster collaboration across marketing and align the team with company-wide objectives.
- Manage relationships with external agencies, vendors, and freelancers.
Strategy & Ownership
- Own the overall marketing strategy and the marketing P&L, with full responsibility for budget allocation and return on investment.
- Direct all marketing channels — paid media, organic and SEO, email and lifecycle, social, and digital — as an integrated program.
- Translate company objectives into a clear marketing plan and oversee its end-to-end execution.
- Oversee the full customer journey, ensuring every touchpoint is consistent, on-brand, and optimized for conversion.
Performance & Analytics
- Establish and track KPIs across all marketing functions, and report results to leadership.
- Interpret marketing analytics and performance data, and adjust tactics and spend based on results.
- Maintain a disciplined, data-driven approach to decision-making and budget management.
- A proven track record of growth-driving marketing leadership within the e-commerce sector.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing marketing teams.
- Full-funnel expertise across paid, organic, and digital channels.
- Experience owning a marketing budget and P&L, with strong financial discipline.
- Ability to operate at both the strategic and executional level, with willingness to be hands-on in implementation.
- Strong command of marketing analytics, KPIs, and performance reporting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
