Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, physically fit, and detail-oriented Warehouse Worker to join our flooring team. In this role, you will be responsible for handling a variety of heavy and specialized flooring inventory, including large carpet rolls, vinyl sheet goods, heavy pallets of ceramic tile, and hardwood or laminate planks.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving & Storing: Safely unload incoming shipments of flooring materials from delivery trucks. Verify receipts against bill of ladings, inspect products for transit damage, and organize materials into assigned racks or bays.
- Order Picking & Processing: Accurately pull staging inventory for upcoming installations or customer pickups. Be able to use a tape measure and specialized cutting equipment to cut carpet and vinyl sheet orders to requested specifications. Ability to assist with deliveries to job sites
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse machinery—such as forklifts equipped with carpet poles, pallet jacks, and order pickers—to move bulk flooring materials.
- Loading Support: Help load delivery vans, installation trucks, or customer vehicles safely, ensuring all fragile materials (like tile edges) are wrapped and secured tightly.
- Safety & Maintenance: Keep the warehouse floors clean, organized, and free of hazards. Adhere strictly to OSHA standards and the company's internal safety procedures regarding heavy lifting and machinery usage.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Previous warehouse experience is preferred; background working specifically with building or flooring materials is a significant plus.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to consistently lift and move heavy boxes of tile or hardwood planks (up to 75 lbs unassisted) and stand or walk for the duration of an 8-hour shift.
- Technical Skills: Basic mathematical proficiency for taking accurate material measurements and calculating square footage.
- Attitude: Strong attention to detail to ensure clients receive the exact color dye lot and style ordered. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Alternating Saturday morning shifts may be required. Part-time opportunity may be available.
- Environment: Regular exposure to warehouse environments.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
