Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented General Service Technician to join our dynamic marine service team. In this role, you will perform essential maintenance and repairs to ensure customer safety and satisfaction. Your expertise will help keep boats running smoothly, providing reliable service that exceeds expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for boat/marine work and a desire to grow their technical skills in a fast-paced environment. Most of the work is done on inboard specific boats.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, fluid replacements, impeller maintenance, and routine inspections to maintain optimal boat performance
- Perform mechanical repairs including engine diagnostics, alignment adjustments, and mechanical troubleshooting
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete repair tasks efficiently
- Assist with diagnostics to identify issues accurately and recommend appropriate solutions
- Support service operations by performing services, communicating with Service Manager, and other essential maintenance tasks
- Handle heavy lifting safely when working on vehicle components or equipment
- Maintain detailed records of all services performed and communicate clearly with customers about their boat’s needs
- Continued training with both boat and engine manufacturers and the specific maintenance requirements
- Maintenance on company owned vehicles and equipment
Skills
- Proven dealership or marine service experience with a strong understanding of standard boat operation
- Hands-on mechanic experience with automotive/marine diagnostics and mechanical repair techniques
- Mechanical knowledge of boat/trailer systems including engines, brakes, suspension, and electrical components
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Experience with automotive/marine fluid replacement, oil changes, trailer services, and routine maintenance procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a physically demanding environment
- Familiarity with service processes and mechanical repairs is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail, safety consciousness, and a proactive approach to inboard maintenance tasks
- Forklift experience is a plus
