We are looking for a USA-based Ignition Engineer with hands-on experience in Ignition 8.3 to design, develop, and maintain SCADA and industrial automation applications.
Location: Orangeburg, NY, USA (Monthly office visit required)
Work Model: Remote / Hybrid work setup with mandatory office visit once per month at the Orangeburg, NY office.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Ignition Engineer with strong expertise in Ignition 8.3 to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of SCADA and industrial automation solutions. The role includes working with real-time industrial data, dashboard development, system integration, and performance optimization to enable efficient and reliable operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain SCADA applications using Ignition 8.3.
- Integrate PLC and machine data using OPC UA, Modbus, and related industrial protocols.
- Design and configure Perspective and Vision dashboards.
- Configure tags, alarms, and Tag Historian.
- Develop Python scripts for automation and application logic.
- Work with SQL databases for data storage, reporting, and analytics.
- Integrate external systems through REST APIs (ERP/MES).
- Troubleshoot application and system issues and improve performance.
- Support deployment, testing, and ongoing maintenance activities.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Ignition 8.3 (Perspective, Gateway).
- Good understanding of SCADA and industrial automation systems.
- Experience with OPC UA, Modbus, or similar industrial protocols.
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
- Experience with Python scripting (Ignition Jython preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be currently based in the United States.
Good to Have
- Experience in manufacturing / industrial automation projects.
- Knowledge of MES systems.
- Exposure to IIoT or Edge platforms.
- Ignition certification.
