Requirements: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Fiscal Management or a related field, and Certified Public Accountant license preferred. Five years of accounting experience and a firm understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Position Summary: Responsible for the administration, coordination, and organization of the agency's financial department, including financial reporting and budgeting, and assuring compliance with all federal and state regulations according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Compile and analyze financial information and assist in the preparation of the annual budget process. Prepare monthly financial statements. Ensure accounting procedures are in place and followed for compliance with State and Federal regulations. Enforce proper internal controls to safeguard company assets. Ensure the retirement and health plans are administered in accordance with State and Federal regulations. Work as a member of Key Management to assist in agency program planning. Prepare reports for Key Management, governing bodies, and government agencies as needed. Supervise Fiscal Department staff, monitor performance, and provide evaluations. Represent FACT, Inc. by participating in community collaborations and organizations. Attend local, out-of-town, and overnight meetings, training, and conferences as required, and complete a minimum of 15 professional development clock hours per year. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications General: Have and maintain a valid Driver’s license and vehicle insurance. Have an initial health examination. Pass state Criminal Background Check, Central Registry Check, and/or FBI Background Check if applicable.
Knowledge and Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgement to define issues, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and resolve problems. Ability to analyze issues and make accurate and concise reports. Ability to effectively present information to Key Management, Policy Council, Board of Directors, and public groups. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees or regulatory agencies. Knowledge and experience in financial reporting and budgeting. Understand all aspects of accounting, including Accounts Payable, Payroll, and General Ledger. Ability to use Word, Excel, and accounting software with accuracy. Ability to supervise and manage staff efficiently and effectively within the guidelines of agency policies.
