TITLE: Facilities Maintenance Professional
LOCATION: Urbana School District #116
SUPERVISOR: Director of Facilities Services
SUPERVISES: This is not a supervisory position.
JOB OVERVIEW: The duties of this position include all that are related to maintaining, repairing, and installing all systems needed for the operation of Urbana School District #116.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

Responsible for overall operations of boilers, heating, and cooling systems district-wide.

Responsible for working knowledge of energy management systems, keeping the entire system operational, having the ability to adjust equipment as needed, and understanding the systems' monitoring capabilities.

Maintain, repair, and replace all HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, and Control systems. This includes all boilers and related support systems.

Maintain, repair, or replace keys, locks, cylinders, and special door systems.

Maintain, repair, replace, and have a working knowledge of pneumatic, electrical, and digital controls.

Maintain, repair, and replace all doors, windows, and associated building hardware.

Maintain and repair all district furniture and fixtures.

Possesses general carpentry skills.

Conduct minor asbestos maintenance (must acquire asbestos worker license within 6 months of employment).

Responsible for the installation of new equipment, new mechanical elements, and appliances.

Maintain fire and burglar systems.

Perform preventative maintenance of all district equipment in all district facilities.

Maintain all interior and exterior building components.

Assist with snow removal as needed.

The Director of Facilities Services assigns other duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- EPA Freon Certification (Within 90 days of employment)
- IDPH Asbestos Workers License (Within six months of employment)
- Energy Management Specific Training (Ability to obtain after employment)
EXPERIENCE
- Five to ten years of building maintenance or construction-related fields is strongly preferred
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be licensed as a worker and adhere to EPA and IDPH rules and regulations for asbestos and working in areas with asbestos-containing materials within six months of employment.
- Must be certified to use Freon refrigerant or obtain certification within 90 days. Proof of certification will be required.
- Competent knowledge base of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, boiler, and heating plants.
- Basic knowledge of carpenter skills, basic electronics, and any other building trade skills in the building maintenance field are desired.
- Ability to constantly bend, stand, stoop, walk, and lift.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and move up to 100 lbs

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Twelve-month employee
- Must be available to work periodic evenings, weekends, holidays, and for emergencies as scheduled; On-call as needed
