Summary
We’re looking for a Fabrication Lead to oversee daily fab shop operations, ensure product quality, and assist in coordinating projects through the fabrication process. This position plays a key role in keeping the fabrication floor running efficiently while supporting welders and fabricators in meeting production goals.
Responsibilities:
Fabrication
- Lead daily shop activities, including cutting, forming, and welding tasks.
- Ability to work in every area of the manufacturing process
- Ability to program machines using machine manufacturer software
- Ensure materials, tools, and prints are available for each job before fabrication begins.
- Work closely with the Production Manager and Engineering team to resolve drawing or other issues quickly.
- Verify that parts meet print specifications and dimensional tolerances before moving to the next stage.
- Maintain high standards for craftsmanship and finish quality across all projects.
- Assist with machine maintenance schedules and verify that all tools/lenses are in safe working condition.
- Monitor stock levels of replacement parts and gases used in production (O2, C25, Weld)
- Monitor quality control ensuring correct forms, welds, laser tolerances are correct
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or mechanical assembly.
- Proven leadership or lead-role experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and shop prints.
- Skilled in MIG/TIG welding, forming, layout, and fit-up.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Forklift, crane, and press brake experience preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
