Position Summary:
Performs a variety of tasks related to energy management and preventative maintenance for the school system. The employee in this position monitors the energy management software, conducts audits of energy consumption, and oversees all aspects of preventative maintenance. All work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities and plays a vital role in providing reliable and high-quality service in support of school system objectives.
Essential Duties:
- Conducts energy audits and follow up on audits as needed.
- Maintain energy cost records (enter monthly data for each building) and evaluate usage trends in the database.
- Participate in the preparation of annual energy reports.
- Enter energy management schedules for each school in the energy monitoring system including HVAC, outdoor lighting, boilers and all other equipment on the monitoring system.
- Works with HVAC , energy and water management system contractors to maintain efficient and effective HVAC systems operations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot the energy management monitoring system.
- Alert the Director of Facilities or his/her designee of any emergency situations relating to the energy management system.
- Oversee the completion of all work requests related to energy management assets including HVAC, outdoor lighting, boilers and all other equipment on the monitoring system.
- Participate in the on-call schedule for the energy management monitoring system.
- Monitor alarm systems for fire alarms, kitchen equipment and security.
- Respond to after-hours emergency calls for system building alarms as needed.
- Aid the Director of Facilities with development of energy procedures and recommendations for future facility improvements with regard to energy management.
- Develop and maintain a database for all energy management assets across the school system.
- Conduct routine inspections of energy management assets including HVAC, outdoor lighting, boilers and all other equipment on the monitoring system in facilities across the school system.
- Develop a schedule, maintain accurate records, and oversee the completion of all preventative maintenance across the school system.
- Participate in the routine maintenance work requests as time permits and demand loads require.
- Perform all assigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
- Follow all safety procedures during the performance of duties.
- Keep accurate records including the completion of all information required on work orders and inspection reports.
- Keep work areas and fleet vehicles clean on a daily basis.
- Comply with all policies, procedures and regulations.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Facilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelors degree or higher preferred
- Valid Georgia driver’s license and safe driving record
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledgeable of energy management software; WebCTRL or similar preferred.
- Knowledgeable of routine preventative maintenance and the related scope of work; school related experience preferred.
- Ability to perform multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of computers with excellent skill in Microsoft and Google applications.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to work independently and in team environments to meet goals and deadlines.
