Job Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled Machine Technical Assistant to assist our programmer with day-to-day operations which include operation of a plasma table and waterjet. Our ideal candidate will have experience with Autocad, reading and interpreting blueprints, specifically that include welding symbols, and familiarity with steel material and its properties. The ability to read a tape measure is required for all applicants for this position.
Starting pay for this position is determined by experience level.
Duties
- Assist with setup, programming, calibration, and operation of Plasma Table and Waterjet machines.
- Utilize a tape measure and calculator to determine how much material is needed to complete burnouts of specific parts for awarded and potential projects
- Keep and maintain organized records of material currently in inventory
- Communicate with the office and workshop personnel to determine efficient courses of action and solutions for manufacturing parts.
- Read blueprints and technical drawings accurately for assembly, fabrication, or machining tasks
Qualifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment in which operations of CNC machinery and computer operated cutting tables were utilized.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in blueprint reading, AutoCAD software, and technical drawing interpretation
- Skilled in operating customary shop hand tools and basic math for measurements and calculations
- Ability to operate a forklift is a plus, however we train all employees on site for a Fabtration-specific certificate
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and team-oriented approach to troubleshooting machinery issues and completing projects.
