Role Description
The Senior Sales Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Jackson, MS. This role is responsible for driving technical sales opportunities by understanding customer requirements, developing solutions aligned with FabTek’s fabrication capabilities, and preparing detailed proposals and quotations. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with customers and prospects, interpreting technical specifications and drawings, collaborating with engineering and production teams, and providing pre- and post-sales technical support. The Senior Sales Engineer will lead product and capability presentations, support bid processes for utilities and EPCs, and help forecast and track sales pipeline activity. The role also includes maintaining strong customer relationships, gathering market feedback to inform product and process improvements, and ensuring a smooth handoff from sales to operations for each project.
Qualifications
- Strong sales engineering skills, including solution development, specification interpretation, and experience working with engineered-to-order or fabricated products.
- Proven experience in sales and customer service, with the ability to build long-term relationships and manage complex accounts in the power, utility, or industrial sectors.
- Technical support capabilities to assist customers with product selection, application questions, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Background in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering (degree or equivalent experience preferred), ideally with exposure to power distribution, substations, or datacenter infrastructure.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and standards relevant to power and utility fabrication.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort working on-site in a manufacturing environment and collaborating closely with production, engineering, and quality teams.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and basic business software (e.g., Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and presentation tools) to manage pipelines and prepare proposals.
