We are looking for an experienced sewer to assist with custom upholstery and sewing projects. This role focuses on producing high-quality cushion covers, furniture parts, and similar fabrications using upholstery-grade materials.
This position will involve a paid working interview to evaluate skills and fit.
Responsibilities
- Sew cushion covers (boxed, zipper, welted)
- Construct slipcovers and simple upholstered components
- Work with upholstery fabrics, vinyl, and other heavy materials
- Measure, cut, and assemble pieces accurately
- Install zippers, welting, and other finishing details
- Maintain clean, consistent stitching and professional-quality results
- Collaborate on custom projects and follow job specifications
Qualifications
· Experience sewing (upholstery, drapery, or similar heavy materials preferred)
· Ability to sew straight, consistent seams and clean corners
· Familiarity with zippers, boxing, and welt cord construction
· Comfortable using industrial sewing machines
· Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
· Ability to work independently and problem-solve
Working Interview
Candidates will be invited to complete a short paid working interview (2–4 hours).
This allows both you and our team to evaluate fit and workmanship in our shop setting.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
