What are the responsibilities and job description for the AISC Certified Quality Control Manager position at FABRICATION PRODUCTS, INC.?
FP Steel Management has an immediate opening for an experienced Quality Control Manager. The qualified applicant will be responsible for implementing and managing quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of structural steel assemblies (consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals).
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Interact with Government Source Inspector as needed
- Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.
- Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
- Provide dimensional and final weld inspection to shop drawings
- Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within Company.
- Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.
- Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
- Assign work to employees and communicate any performance related issues to the Shop Foreman
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
- Minimum 5 years related experience required. Must have a CWI awarded from AWS
- Prefer ASNT UT and MT level 2 experience
- Management experience.
- Experience inspecting to AWS D1.1, D1.5 and AISC Standards.
- Knowledge of blueprints and Steel shop fabrication
- Experience with developing/documenting procedures.
- Computer proficiency.

- Ability to keep accurate records and follow documented procedures and standards
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
