Agricultural Equipment Operator

Workers will operate farm equipment and machinery used in the seasonal production of sod. Duties include operating tractors, sod cutters, mowers, rollers, forklifts, loaders, and other implements to prepare fields, maintain growing sod, and harvest sod during the active production season. Workers will assist with field preparation by tilling, grading, leveling, and applying fertilizer as needed to support seasonal sod growth. Workers will operate sod harvesters to cut, roll, and stack sod during the harvest period and may use forklifts or loaders to move harvested sod pallets from the field to on-farm staging or storage areas. Workers will perform routine, seasonally necessary maintenance on equipment they operate, such as checking fluid levels, greasing fittings, cleaning machinery, and reporting mechanical issues. Workers may assist with simple, in-season adjustments or part replacements directly related to keeping the equipment functioning during peak periods. Workers may perform general farm labor connected to the sod-growing season, including mowing fields, irrigating, setting up or maintaining seasonal sprinkler lines, hand weeding, removing debris, and maintaining field conditions necessary for planting, growing, and harvesting sod. All work is directly related to the active sod production cycle.
