What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Cost Estimator position at Fabmax Opco LLC?
The Manufacturing Cost Estimator will be responsible for performing functions to determine the accurate cost for producing manufactured products using an Excel database. The responsibilities include but are not limited to; determining proper material, outside operations, labor and machines to be utilized in production process for each part quoted. As a member of the Engineering Team, you will also interact with customers (both internal and external) to ensure all information is obtained to perform job requirements successfully and support any cross-departmental collaborations.
Education:
Associates Degree within an Engineering related field (preferred).
High School Diploma or GED (minimum).
Language:
English (Required)

Requirements:Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely manufacturing estimates based on customer requirements to existing & potential customer base.
- Maintains knowledge of processing rates and methods from operations to accurately quote.
- Utilize ERP system Made2Manage to research production processes, maintain historic pricing and current hardware costs.
- Conduct Contract Review to verify correct information is included in the system prior to initiation of production and costs updated.
- Assist sales representatives to service potential and existing customers as requested.
- Identify additional supplier options (ex: hardware) to provide competitive priced products on time.
- Identify sources of supply for material, paint, plating, hardware specific to blueprint and flow down requirements.
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access)
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Advanced blueprint reading
- Knowledge of sheet metal materials in various alloys
- Knowledgeable in forming and hardware installation
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Previous experience with welding and dip braze is preferable
- Familiarity within the ISO9001 and AS9100 Quality environment.
- Familiarity with special processes such as metal finishing, welding, primer & paint, dip brazing (NADCAP).
- Ability to adhere to company policies and quality management system procedures.
- Coursework or equivalent experience:
- High school diploma or GED required, Associates preferred
- 3 years manufacturing experience in a metal fabrication required
- Knowledge of Aerospace product processing and approved sources
- Previous quoting experience with Aerospace OEM products (Raytheon, Honeywell, Rockwell Collins)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cost calculating for manufactured products
- Strong math skills and attention to detail, accuracy is a must
