Job Summary:
The Sr. Transportation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating transportation for the rental equipment. Is responsible for negotiating rates with outside vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule transportation of equipment for all Rental locations in determining whether or not to use internal drivers and/or outside hauling when necessary to ensure equipment is delivered as expected.
- Responsible for tracking, communicating and helping to control Rental Services costs for transportation.
- Communicate with customers as to the location of shipments and if shipments are going to be running late.
- Schedule transfers between Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Upper Peninsula Michigan for Rental & Used departments.
- Researches, evaluates, negotiates and determines the proper outside haulers to fill transportation needs.
- Assist in the negotiation of new contracts with dedicated fleet companies.
- Develop and assist Leadership Team to mold behaviors of Coordinators and Sales Team to maximize freight recovery.
- Develop, improve and implement processes to help freight recovery numbers.
- Develop and implement efficiencies while driving down overall transportation costs.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree required.
- Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 3 plus years in a similar role/capacity and industry required
- Heavy equipment and the rental business experience preferred
- Lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment and the rental business
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work outside normal business hours
