Job Title: Painters Helper
Reports to: Paint Shop Supervisor
Job Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Location: 27807 Red Fox Rd, Tomball TX 77377
SUMMARY Performs day to day activities as instructed by the Coatings Manager, to support warehouse and paint production operations.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Clean and prepare parts for paint following established procedures.
Blast parts as required per coatings specification.
Mask parts as required per customer drawings or instructions.
Load parts or equipment for paint on racks or tables.
Stage paint jobs in designated areas by use of forklift or push racks.
Stencil parts as required.
Touch up, unmask and place completed parts on shipping pallets.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment daily or as instructed.
Upkeep of paint booths including storage cabinets and mixing room.
Confer with supervisor regarding quality or procedure problems.
Clocks in on all applicable work orders.
Monitor and submit request for shop tools and supplies.
Move products or equipment by use of forklift.
Upkeep and cleanliness of work areas.
Follow company safety & security guidelines
Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
Other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
DESIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED
Experience in industrial painting
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee may be required to do the following: climbing into and out of equipment; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands, fingers and feet to operate tools and equipment; lifting up to 30 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction. The employee is frequently required to stand while performing the duties of this job (approx. 80%) walk (15%) and occasionally sit (5%). The employee is expected to lift or move materials (75% of workday)
