What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at Fab-Tec Machining and Fabrication LLC?
Fab-Tec has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous quality experience in a machining and fabrication environment, be organized, detail-oriented and driven. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products.
- Document and report any quality issues or non-conformances to the appropriate department.
- Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, confirming re-work.
- Fill out job travelers, time sheets, inspection documents and any other paperwork associated with the part.
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, inputting data into quality database.
- Check parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications using proper gauges.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests and quality metrics.
Requirements:
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality control in a machining and fabrication environment required.
- Previous experience with quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001.
- Must own tools for daily tasks (i.e. micrometers, calipers, edge finders, etc.) preferred
- Read and interpret blueprints and work order instructions.
- Forklift certified.
- Working knowledge of computers.
- Basic math skills.
- Must be able to take verbal and written instructions and work from handmade sketches.
- Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast pace work environment.
