Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping Crate Builder to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing durable, custom shipping crates to ensure the safe transport of goods and equipment. Your expertise in carpentry, blueprint reading, and fabrication will be essential to producing high-quality, secure packaging solutions. In addition, this role requires packaging of parts into cardboard boxes and then packing these in the crates you have built. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your construction skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to precision and safety.
Duties
- Read and interpret schematics, and technical drawings to accurately build shipping crates tailored to specific specifications.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and fasten wood, metal, or composite materials using hand tools and power tools such as saws, drills, and hammers.
- Ensure all crates meet safety standards by following proper power tool safety protocols and construction best practices.
- Fabricate custom components for crates including frames, panels, reinforcements, and fixtures as required by project plans.
- Load crates, count inventory and parts shipped in each crate and assign the shipping papers for each shipment.
- Perform heavy lifting and manual labor to load crates, move raw materials and completed crates within the workspace.
- Inspect finished crates for quality control, ensuring they are sturdy, secure, and compliant with industry standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety regulations related to company and OSHA requirements.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and interpreting technical drawings.
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively on various materials
- Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly while maintaining safety standards.
- Experience with woodworking preferred.
- Knowledge of construction safety protocols including power tool safety and general site safety guidelines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in fabrication and assembly tasks.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
